Happy Monday!! Hope you all are having a fabulous day with great weather in your life. It’s currently 86° here, so in other words…HOT. I’m not complaining, the sun puts me in a good mood 🙂
Something I kept seeing in the blogsphere that has always called my attention has been Fitnessista’s Breakfast Cookie.
A cookie for breakfast? No way this is a fail. The only reason I hadn’t made this before is because I eat with my mind and I thought there was no way this was going to be filling. I was wrong!
Made with all the fixings! I smashed in half of a nanner, left it overnight and woke up to this ginormous cookie!
Today is a workout day so I was excited to get my butt in the gym! The best part was that I had a whole new workout to follow 😀
My very generous bf designed me a workout plan that followed the 3 main bodybuilding lifts: Bench Press, Deadlift, and
Squat Leg Press. I gotta keep my form in check before starting to squat again.
- Deadlift- 5 sets leading to one max. I hit 155lb today
- Assisted Pull ups (until I can do actual ones )
- Dumbbell Rows- 2×10. I did 25lb
- Side Planks
- Front Planks
- Glut Bridges
I am tiredddd 🙂 But in a good way. I love feeling strong. Skinny is for wimps 😉
My PWO was a baked bean burrito! 😀 Yummm
Can’t have lunch without a little dessert so I thought I’d treat myself to a little Casein Pudding 😀
Thank you all for the great responses regarding my friend from my last post. I know it’s a very sensitive issue, so I’ll address it as best as I can but in the end it’s not up to me. You all are fantastic 😀

Last night I decided that today for breakfast I’d toast up some bagels. I am a bagel lover and it’s pretty difficult to say no to a cinnamon raisin or blueberry bagel. Luckily I bought some that were 110 calories each! Yes, success 🙂
I didn’t take them out of the freezer last night thinking that it wouldn’t be a big deal. Wrong!! These bagels are not pre cut 😦 And you cannot cut through a frozen hard bagel (easily anyways). So I pretty much stuck the whole bagel in one of my toaster slots, and cut it when it was done. Pretty weird but it worked. You can’t have a bagel without topping so I added some fat free cream cheese with cinnamon to one, and some apricot jam to the over. It was win 😉
I couldn’t just have a bagel without oats so I made some some as well.
Ok to be honest it’s not exactly oatmeal, it’s a Quaker hot cereal that tastes exactly like it. I had a serving of the so called oats, with a splash of chocolate soy milk and blueberries, topped with peanuts and chocolate morsels. Another successful breakfast without breaking the calorie bank 😉
Me, before my boyfriend picked me up 🙂 I hadn’t seen him in a week so I was uber excited!! 😛
Such a hateful little book made to make my life miserable for the next few months. It’s really in depth and just one chapter will leave you mind boggled. I’m on chapter 2 😦 Not a big accomplishment lol but I’m working on it!

Today has been another bad stomach day. This whole week in fact has been dreadful. I’m taking probiotics and anti-spasm medications but the pain comes and goes whenever it wants. The bloating doesn’t go away so I might try some elimination diets to see what happens. I already tried dairy and I’m not intolerant so maybe I’ll go cold turkey on the sorbitol products or artificial sweeteners.
Have any of you had similar problems? Any advice? Thanks

So it’s official we have no winter. It is a warm, hot 80° outside.
I’m not complaining seeing as most of you are having crazy winter storms but still I like it when it’s a bit chilly. It’s fun whipping out the boots and scarves even when it’s just in the 60’s 😉 But this weather puts me in a good mood to be productive and wear shorts! Oh how I’ve missed you.
My first time using chocolate soy milk and it was really amazing.
In the mix was 30g of oats, 1/2 banana, 1/3 cup milk, 3/4 cup water, 5g flax, 1T cocoa powder, walnuts, sugar free vanilla wafers, chocolate graham cracker, sugar free syrup, and a spoonful of chocolate peanut butter. Yes a lot of chocolate and yes it was delicious. I was really stuffed and had to wait a good couple of hours to go to the gym 😦
My workout today was great! I love Wednesday workouts because they are short and I get to deadlift 🙂 I maxed out today at 145 lbs, highest I’ve gone and I was ecstatic to get my 4 reps with good form. I’ve switched over to arnold presses so I did 3 sets of 5 reps with 20 lb dumbbells in each hand. Oh my, I felt the burn. Finished off with some leg raises and new ab exercise, kneeling cable crunch. My boyfriend introduced these to me today and I love them. It’s fun to switch up your workout every few months, keeps you motivated once you’ve started to max out on an exercise.
PWO was delicious. Left over chili from yesterday in a tortilla with cheese inside and salsa outside
I was pretty disappointed that there was no new Modern Family tonight. It’s become one of my newest guilty pleasures.

Omg time flies! I cannot believe that we are beginning a new month. It’s pretty exciting and scary at the same time. I love February but I’m biased since it’s the month of my birthday 🙂
Nothing starts the day off like a good bowl of oats. These were some eats from yesterday since I hadn’t blogged anything.
My first time using a vitatop in my oats and omg it was amazing! So much chocolate power I thought I was eating a brownie. Yum! Chopped up some banana into the mix, and some kashi. Almond Butter topped it off and it was win.
As for lunch I have never actually made chili by myself. I’ve made it with my boyfriend but nothing that I alone have done so I figured why not, let’s do it. I had some beans in the cupboard so it was time.
Something I gotta keep playing around with but I thought it tasted pretty good. It was a mixture of black beans, chili beans, and pinto beans. I love having a banana with chili but I already had one for breakfast so I had some toast 😛
I went to Nutrition S’mart and literally felt like a kid at Disney world. So many things I had never seen before! It’s funny how interests change when you get older and develop a healthy passion for food.
Does anyone else get excited grocery shopping and seeing new nut butters or what not?

Yay, it’s finally sunny and chilly in this beautiful city!! (well not chilly for most of you, but 60’s for me is)
I really love waking up to mornings like these, just puts me in a great mood to be outdoors. My boyfriend picked me up early to do some shopping at Ikea and I was excited because I needed some new oatmeal bowls 🙂
I was looking forward to my overnights oats for breakfast. I haven’t made these in a while because they never seem to come out so great. The one’s I made last night on the other hand were fantastic! I added Fage (that made it) along with a banana and left it overnight. It was a lot of goodness when I got to it in the morning. Not oats in a jar but oats in a mug 🙂
After breakfast I was ready for a long shopping day. Ikea is just one of those places where you seem to be there for a long time, especially when just browsing around since there is so much to see!
Hand in hand on our way 🙂 Love him. As anticipated we were there for quite some time but I found some bowls to use so I am super excited to use them tomorrow morning 😀
After some serious shopping we had to stop by the grocery store to buy some food to make for lunch and by this time I was one starving chick.
Luckily lunch was quick and easy
A little sriracha to ignite the palate. Some bites were followed by large gulps of water!! Totally worth it though, it was delish.
Dinner was also another winner and it was my little idea.
Yummy with cheese inside and outside topped with some salsa!! We used canned refried beans and just baked it, until the cheese melted and the beans were warm. Definitely hit the spot.

Oh and I was able to find a Principles of Nutrition class to take for a mini term at a local college. It starts Feb 12 until April but it’s on Saturdays. I was pretty excited to find it since I have to take Ogo II as a pre req and would rather not be involved in any other classes at that point. Unfortunately the book for my nutrition class is $130!!! Ahhh how crazy lol I usually have pretty good luck finding used books for much cheaper but I cannot find this one anywhere 😦 Not really sure if I should buy it or rent it but since it is a basic level nutrition class I might need it for referencing later on. Decisions, decisions, decisions!
I was pretty psyched about today because it’s a deadlifting day!! My greatest deadlifting moment was when I picked up the bar off the floor with 45 lbs on each side, which meant 135 lbs total. Since I weigh 115 it meant lifting more than my body weight which made me super happy. The goal for today was to complete 5 reps. Last week I did 4 but when I finished I noticed a pretty strong lower back pain. My boyfriend warned me that there shouldn’t be any back pain, and instead of doing them incorrectly he wanted to see me do them.
Let’s just say today was a whole different ball park! My warm up sets were good, but then when it came time for my heaviest set oh dear god I thought I wasn’t going to be able to do it. Best tip for deadlifting: Abs tight, chest up, and never use your back to pick up the weight. Use your legs!!

I only did 3 sets but my back was pain free. I was actually pretty disappointed because I wanted to finish, I hate feeling like a quitter. Hopefully next week will be better. My overhead press was em decent but form is getting sloppy. Might need to switch to something else before I hurt myself. Overall today’s workout was 5/10. Not impressed.
PWO (post workout) on the other hand was delicious down to the last bite!
Then it was time to play with the new ice cream maker. My boyfriend just got it today so we were excited to make something scrumptious.
Omg it was just like ice cream and my serving was only 134 calories!! Not too shabby I must say 😉
