WIAW [Healthified Eats]

06/29/2011 at 8:08 am 74 comments

Hi loves! Ok so how crazy is it that Friday makes the first day in July?! I still have no clue where June went! The good thing about today though is that it’s Wednesday Smile So link up with Jenn over at Peas and Crayons and have your own WIAW party.

Peas and Crayons

A great day for me always begins with breakfast. An oats kind of breakfast to be exact.

Chocolate nanner oats topped with granola, reeses peanut butter chips, and cinnamon raisin pb. Yum!!

For lunch I had a pizza craving! I used a flat out to make a yummy turkey pepperoni pizza.

Why order out when you can make a healthified version?  Winking smile

When it came to dinner I had yet a different fast food craving. A cheeseburger and fries were calling my name.

I used a frozen veggie burger that I had in my fridge, topped it with cheddar cheese and made some delicious sweet tatter fries. I don’t know about you but ketchup is my favorite condiment! I eat it with everything Smile My homemade healthified burger was a total win.

With all my great nutritious meals I figured dessert should be a bit more sinful…

Oreo cupcakes anyone?! My aunt brought these and they just looked so cute I couldn’t resist. Plus the oreos were calling my name. Winking smile

There you have it! All my great meals for the day.

What’s your favorite guilty pleasure turned healthy?

I LLOVE making my own pizza… I feel like I am enjoying it without any guilt.. less grease, fat.. use whole wheat dough.. and I am in control of everything tha tgoes on it!!

I also like to healthify thinks like chicken parmesean.. using whole wheat bread crumbs and baking the chiken.. or no bread crumbs at all!! Much healtheir then getting it at a restaurant!

    Those cupcakes.. look amazing!

I’ve totally done the healthified version of pizza and burgers and fries! Both are great (pizza is my fave) but you’re right… when it comes to dessert, there’s no messing around… go big or go home 😀

Reeses pb chips on oatmeal?! Love it!!! That sounds sooo good.

I love healthy baked goods! I love being able to have a cookie for breakfast, but since it’s loaded with whole grains, healthy fats, and not too much sugar it’s totally reasonable!

as an avid lover of all things sweet, I just can’t settle for “healthified” versions. Things like “carrot cake oatmeal” or “strawberry cheesecake breakfast bake” are awesome in their own right, but if I want cheesecake, it better be full fat cream cheese and plain old granulated sugar!

Glad you let yourself induldge still, though 🙂 Lately I’ve been eating way too much already made coffee cake, so I’m making my own tomorrow. Homemade jam and all!
