Doing My First WIAW

04/06/2011 at 1:29 pm 65 comments

I decided to jump on the bandwagon for today and do a WIAW thanks to the lovely Jenn over at Peas and Crayons 🙂

Peas and CrayonsThese aren’t all eats from today but they don’t have to be 😉

For today’s breakfast I had some inspiration from the fabulous Katie and made her Berry Chocolate Chia Pudding Bowl!

I made the mixture overnight and woke up to this

Chia Pudding 🙂

Wow this breakfast did not disappoint!

I can never let a bowl of oats go naked so naturally I added some toppings 😀

Topped with cinnamon raisin pb and Back to Nature Cranberry Pecan Granola. Katie knows how to do breakfast 😉

Today was a workout day so I hit the weights hard

  • Deadlifts
  • Arnold Presses
  • Cable Crunches
  • Leg Raises

I start my new workout on Monday so I’ll post it up then 😀

For lunch I had a ham and cheese wrap with a pickle 🙂

Can you believe I never liked pickles? Back in my McDonalds day I would order a cheeseburger sans pickle. Now I love em. Go figure. It’s the boyfriend’s fault 😉

Dinner was a Chicken Kitchen inspired dish

Grilled chopped chicken over a bed of yellow rice with lettuce and chopped tomatoes. On the side was a dipping sauce made up of olive oil mayo with mustard and curry to add an authentic look  😉 So simple and easy but omg amazing! I can’t take credit for this dish, all the bf’s idea 😀

If you haven’t done your post yet, do a WIAW!!

  • Are pickles a yay or nay?

All your eats looks great! I tried Katies Berry Chocolate Chia Pudding Bowl this morning for the first time! What a coincidence!

I’ve been wanting to do a “What I ate Wednesday”, but always forget! Maybe I can remember for next Wednesday. 🙂

    • 8. Jenny  |  04/07/2011 at 10:35 am

  • 9. Alyssa  |  04/06/2011 at 2:09 pm

I get so excited when I get a pickle on the side of my sammy. that = a good day.

I STILL need to do a WIAW! My food’s not pretty enough. I think that’s why I typically opt out.

  • 10. Ellie  |  04/06/2011 at 2:17 pm

  • 11. Sophia @ Raven Waves  |  04/06/2011 at 2:28 pm

I’m not a pickle girl, but I did have them fried once, and they were delicious! I’d rather have a cuc or a zuc 🙂

Pickles are a NAY! My tastebuds have never cared for them. The Chia Pudding on the other hand looks amazeballs, I’ve seen it all over the internets but have yet to try it!

    • 18. Jenny  |  04/07/2011 at 10:36 am

Lmaooo “amazeballs” made me laugh >.<

  • 19. Sara @ Nourish and Flourish  |  04/06/2011 at 4:08 pm

Pickles are a definite YAY! But only by themselves! I can’t stand them in dishes because I think their flavor overpowers everything else!

Your ham and cheese wrap sure looks good though!

  • 20. TheNewHealthy  |  04/06/2011 at 4:13 pm

Yay pickles!! I just had some in my salad the other day! 🙂

  • 21. Parita @ myinnershakti  |  04/06/2011 at 4:17 pm

It’s hit or miss with me in regards to pickles! Sometimes I like them and sometimes I don’t 🙂 Have a great day!!!

  • 22. Mandi  |  04/06/2011 at 4:51 pm

Your breakfast sounds amazing! And I agree- there’s no way you can let a bowl of oats go naked. 🙂 Pickles are usually a nay for me. I honestly can’t stand them. Although, on the very rare occasion, I am okay with the bread and butter type.

  • 23. Hollie @lolzthatswim(andrun)  |  04/06/2011 at 5:16 pm

Ooh pickles and mayonnaise are my least favorite foods ever. Ick-I get the willy nillys just thinking about either of them.

  • 24. Shanna, like Banana  |  04/06/2011 at 5:34 pm

Love me some pickles but Dill only! And super crunchy too 😉

  • 33. moveovercelery  |  04/06/2011 at 7:58 pm

Ahhhh give me your oats! They look SO GOOD.

Eh, pickles are okay. I’m not in love with them but that wrap sure looks good!

  • 34. Heather @ Health, Happiness, and Hope  |  04/06/2011 at 8:01 pm

Wow, that chia seed pudding looks SO good! And fabulous toppings too!

I’ve always been ok with pickles, but they were never a favorite. I’ll order them on a sub sometimes just to up the veggie content, but in general I think they’re a little salty/sour for my tastes.

  • 35. amanda  |  04/06/2011 at 9:31 pm
