Thank you all so much for wishing my boyfriend luck on his Medical Boards exam!! He appreciated all the love 🙂 Now we wait 4 weeks for the results but at least one thing is out of the way. Now he has to study for step 2, this never ends 😦

After he finished his 8 hour exam 😮 he picked me up for a little celebrating. We went to Lincoln Road at Miami Beach to enjoy some tasty Chinese food. Miss Yip was our preplanned place and I could not wait to sink my teeth into some amazing egg rolls!

We ordered pork dumplings and spring rolls for our appetizers.

No pic of my spring roll because I kinda ate it too fast lol oops ordered lo mein and fried rice to share 😀

I ate a little more than I planned on but it was amazing!! I haven’t had real Chinese food in years! I savored every bite

If you think the night ended at Chinese then you are mistake friends, we later went to a sports bar to have some drinks 🙂

I ordered an amazing Bahama Mama while the bf ordered a Margarita 😀

This massive bowl of Nachos later followed 😮

(For the record I took no part in the eating of these Nachos ;))

My stomach was still massively filled from dinner and no my bf did not finish it all! Still fun to see him try though

The next day I went back to my normal eating habits of an awesome oatmeal breakfast 🙂 I can’t help myself

Great way to get back into my routine eating

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!

Bahama Mama’s remind me of some great vacations! My favorite drink of the moment is a Moscato… well only when it’s paired with a serving of Creme Brulee! I love wine/dessert pairings 🙂

I totally feel you on the oatmeal after a day of indulgent eating!

    • 7. Jenny  |  03/29/2011 at 5:16 pm

I’ve never had moscato before but sounds great when you pair it with a dessert 😉

  • 8. Hollie @ Lolzthatswim(andRun)  |  03/29/2011 at 1:27 pm

Strawberry Daiquiris are my favourite by a long shot.

Your oatmeal looks so good (again). Um and your Chinese, can you please just ship me all your food?

    • 9. Jenny  |  03/29/2011 at 5:17 pm

  • 14. Colleen @ The Lunchbox Diaries  |  03/29/2011 at 2:37 pm

I just saw your comment on my post about not being a runner. And now I see that you’re grubbin’ on Chinese and going out for cocktails. I seriously need to high tail it to Miami so we can hang out!

    • 15. Jenny  |  03/29/2011 at 5:18 pm

  • 18. Kjirsten- Balanced Healthy Life  |  03/29/2011 at 3:02 pm

Those drinks looks so fun and delicious! My fave drink is WINE! I love it! I also like a margarita (tequila, fresca/club soda, lime and a splash of margarita mix) and vodka-club soda- lime when its hot out and I am watching my calories!

    • 19. Jenny  |  03/29/2011 at 5:19 pm

I love a good low calorie margarita 😉

  • 20. Christina @ Food.Fun.Fabulous.  |  03/29/2011 at 3:03 pm

My bf and I have been known to polish off a huge plate of nachos like that 😉 but that would have been our dinner hehe. As for my drink of choice, I’m pretty simple – Tequila shots. I think I like the fact that it has a whole routine to go along with it more than anything lol

    • 21. Jenny  |  03/29/2011 at 5:20 pm

Oh man had we not had dinner it would have been completely taken down

  • 22. movesnmunchies  |  03/29/2011 at 3:50 pm

ahh i WNT nachos now!! i can surely veganize them!!.. my go to is a diet coke and vodka.. honestly it gets me going and i can have more for less cals.. cuz i mean .. the more the merrier right?

    • 23. Jenny  |  03/29/2011 at 5:21 pm

Haha definitely good to have more for less calories which is prob why I go for tequila shots ;D

  • 24. Ellie  |  03/29/2011 at 4:59 pm

oh mannn he’s a tough guy with all those exams! glad you had a beautiful time together!! duuuude Jen! I tried the PB&Co product today for the first time! I remember you once mentioned the raising cinnamon one, and omannn….it’s soooo good. I almost ate too much of it today and I usually have very good self control. So I guess ONCE AGAIN and PB&CO are my faves SO far. 🙂

    • 25. Jenny  |  03/29/2011 at 5:22 pm

I love cinnamon raisin!! I recently bought 6 tubs off Amazon for $17, and I split half with the bf 😉 I can’t get enough of the stuff

  • 26. Alexa @ Simple Eats  |  03/29/2011 at 5:30 pm

Your oats look delish! I love extra salted margaritas, beer of any kind and tons of red wine 🙂

  • 27. Kate (What Kate is Cooking)  |  03/29/2011 at 5:51 pm

An 8 hour exam?! That’s rough! You guys definitely deserved a celebration 🙂

    • 28. Jenny  |  03/29/2011 at 8:47 pm

      It was amazing 😀

Yess you need to come see me!! 😀

  • 31. Sophia @ Raven Waves  |  03/29/2011 at 6:34 pm

That bahama mama looks amazing ! I love fruity drinks like that, especially sangria! But when it comes down to it, I’ll always prefer my normal rum and diet coke haha!

    • 32. Jenny  |  03/29/2011 at 8:48 pm

Sangria is always a good choice =]

  • 33. Kristie  |  03/29/2011 at 7:12 pm

Holy nacho mountain! Great celebratory dish I’d say. I’d be beyond impressed if he polished all that off haha.
As for alcoholic drinks, to be honest I haven’t had that many good fancy ones… ever! I always just stick with rye and diet when I order at the bar. I don’t like when they’re toooo sweet. I think I’d be down with anything slushy though. Daquiri perhaps? That bahama mama sure looks good. Oh and white freezies are really awesome on occasion, whatever the heck is actually in them haha.

    • 34. Jenny  |  03/29/2011 at 8:49 pm

If we hadn’t eaten dinner he could have totally eaten it all O_O

  • 35. kbwood  |  03/29/2011 at 7:37 pm

AHHH yay.. love celebratory meals!!! that drink sounds delish!! I had a pina colada in bahamas and yucckkk too sweeeet! I like wine tho!

    • 36. Jenny  |  03/29/2011 at 8:50 pm

      Too sweet?! Ah gasp!! 😀

Yay for being done with the first (ish) step!
My favorite drink is probably beer, but I like gin and tonic, too.

  • 39. Kristina  |  03/29/2011 at 9:38 pm

  • 40. simplynutritiouskate  |  03/29/2011 at 9:40 pm

Looks like an awesome celebration to me, yay for him finishing boards that alone is quite impressive 🙂

  • 41. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin  |  03/29/2011 at 9:42 pm

Looks like a fun celebration night! 😀 I’ve actually never had a bahama mama… I think my fave alcohol drink would have to be a pina colada!

    • 42. Jenny  |  03/30/2011 at 10:44 am

I love pina coladas too! If you like those then you’ll love a bahama mama 😀

  • 43. Gina  |  03/29/2011 at 10:36 pm

Your oats always have me drooling!

  • 44. Casey  |  03/30/2011 at 8:25 am

If my oats looked as awesome as your I think I’d eat them all the time too!

Looks like such a fun night!

  • 49. Jessica @ Dishin' About Nutrition  |  03/30/2011 at 2:01 pm

I am a total Chinese food junkie – that is my ultimate “celebration” meal! I pretty much only drink cabernet these days. I have become a bit of a wine-snob and have learned how to taste certain flavors in red wine which is a lot of fun but very expensive :/

    • 50. Jenny  |  03/30/2011 at 2:29 pm

I feel so unrefined for not being a wine drinker 😉

  • 51. Heather @ Get Healthy With Heather  |  03/30/2011 at 2:22 pm

Nice celebration! That Chinese food does look good! I always feel so stuffed after Chinese.

    Favorite drink? Mojito!

    • 52. Jenny  |  03/30/2011 at 2:31 pm

      Gah me too, carb overload!

  • 53. Meri  |  03/30/2011 at 3:41 pm

I’ve been reading through your recent posts, and you sure do oats right lady! Lots of yummy toppings, that’s the way I do it too. My favorite “beverage” would probably be a good whiskey, but I also really like beer and bubbly. Depends on the occasion!

  • 54. moveovercelery  |  03/30/2011 at 5:38 pm

I swear, you always have the most adorable oats!!!

  • 55. Allison  |  03/30/2011 at 6:14 pm

8 hours of testing yikes!!! I love love love margaritas!

  • 56. mealsformiles  |  03/30/2011 at 6:17 pm

those nachoes look delicious! I’m a big fan of red wine, but if I’m getting fancy I like mojitos.

  • 57. Jenn @ Peas & Crayons  |  03/30/2011 at 6:44 pm

omg girl lo mein and nachos are two of my favorite foods evaaaaa! <#

  • 58. eva626  |  03/30/2011 at 8:55 pm

i like your way of celebrating!!! so yummy!

  • 59. Tara  |  03/30/2011 at 10:19 pm

At least the test is out of the way. I get my SAT scores back tomorrow morning, which is so nervewracking! I celebrated with panera bread after my test, but that doesn’t even compare to amazing chinese food!
Technically I can’t drink alcohol, but I like sangria. It was legal in Spain! Nothing here even compares. It was amazing to have it from its birthplace!

    • 60. Jenny  |  03/30/2011 at 10:45 pm

Hope you get a fantastic score Tara! 😀

  • 61. fashionfitnessfoodie  |  03/30/2011 at 10:24 pm

Favorite alcoholic drink is Capt and Diet! Kind of boring 🙂

    • 62. Jenny  |  03/30/2011 at 10:45 pm

Whatever gets the job done 😉

  • 63. Laury @thefitnessdish  |  03/30/2011 at 11:05 pm

OMG! Haven’t had a Bahama Mamma since I was not even legal to drink one 😉

I totally thought that dumpling was a tiny serving of mashed potatoes. I was like, wow, she’s really eating a small portion I would want like 4x as much haha

    • 64. Jenny  |  03/31/2011 at 5:38 am

      Lmao!! I ate a lot O_O

  • 65. megan @ the oatmeal diaries  |  03/31/2011 at 5:50 am

I’ve never had Chinese dumplings before and keep meaning to try them- there are billions of places around here that sell stuff like that! Favorite alcoholic drink… honestly I like good old wine and beer!

  • 66. Meg  |  03/31/2011 at 8:55 am

Yeeee Chinese dumplings are SO good, I am in forever in search for a GF restaurant with them, haha!

    Good luck to your boy!

  • 67. Meg  |  03/31/2011 at 8:56 am

p.s. I love the bunnies in your oats!

  • 68. leashieloo  |  03/31/2011 at 9:35 pm

I’m a fan of tropical rum-based drinks, give me a daqiuri or pina colada any day. And omg on that Chinese food, it’s been AGES. I actually turned some down today and it was SO difficult to do. Now I’m drooling over your photos and want to take a bite out of the screen.
