Battle Of The Oats

TGIF!!
In case you wondering the recipe for my cheesecake froyo I posted it here (let me know if you make it!)
I started off the day with a fantastic workout consisting of:
- Leg presses: 5 reps with 220 lbs
- Push ups: 15
- Step ups: 8 reps with 20 lb dumbbells in each hand
- Lat pulldowns
- Hyperextensions
- Cable Crunches
- Wood Choppers
I love my weight lifting days, gives me so much energy throughout the day.
After I got my muscles pumping I was ready to give them some major fuel 😉
Breakfast was as follows:
I made them stove top today 😉
In the mix: 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup water, cocoa powder, cinnamon, 9g chia seeds,1/4 nanner
Topped with: 1/4 nanner, peanuts, cinnamon raisin pb, apricot jam, and organic bunny graham crackers!!
As soon as I saw these I knew they had to be in my possession. They were so yummy! And only 130 calories for 30 grams. Perfect finish to my oats 🙂
Lunch was a simple but delicious Egg McMuffin 😉 Watch out McDonalds!!
If you were wondering about the title of my post it was because of these oats that I made the other day
My fabulous pumpkin pie oats
Battle of the oats!
- Which do you prefer? Pumpkin oats or Banana?
(Nanners will always be my number 1 choice ;))

I have never tried pumpkin oats. I’m still forever yoked to my banana oats! Maybe I can cheat and sneak a little pumpkin in there sometime. 🙂
2. Jenny | 03/26/2011 at 7:00 pm
Banana and pumpkin are a great combo 😀
3. This Italian Family | 03/25/2011 at 2:25 pm

11. Shanna, like Banana | 03/25/2011 at 4:09 pm
Gotta go with pumpkin on this one Jenny. Anything pumpkin trumps bananas in my world 😉
12. Kate (What Kate is Cooking) | 03/25/2011 at 4:20 pm
Pumpkin is my favorite food, so I will always choose pumpkin oats 🙂 I do love bananas in my oats though!
13. Faith @ lovelyascharged | 03/25/2011 at 4:28 pm
Of the two, I’d have to choose banana, but I’m a sucker for oats with chocolate and berries in them!
14. Jenny | 03/26/2011 at 7:02 pm
I still haven’t really added berries to mine. Gotta do that 😀
15. Maryann (The Balanced Bean) | 03/25/2011 at 4:45 pm
I think I prefer banana, although I LOVE the volume that pumpkin adds to oats!
16. Jenny | 03/26/2011 at 7:32 pm
I think banana adds volume haha I might just be biased 😉
17. Alexa @ Simple Eats | 03/25/2011 at 5:26 pm
Your oats always look delish. I can’t eat a whole bowl of oats, idk what it is, I always crave something salty after. I could definitely take a few tips from you, though!
18. Jenny | 03/26/2011 at 7:33 pm
Haha I would definitely make you oats anytime 😉
19. Mary @ Bites and Bliss | 03/25/2011 at 6:37 pm
Both! I love all kinds of oats with banana but pumpkin oats will always hold a place in my heart. Might as well combine them. 😉
20. Jenny | 03/26/2011 at 7:33 pm
Things are always better in pairs 😀
21. Christina @ Food.Fun.Fabulous. | 03/25/2011 at 6:38 pm

25. Jenny | 03/26/2011 at 7:34 pm
It’s an english muffin with an egg over easy and a turkey sausage patty! Gah so good 😀
26. Christina | 03/25/2011 at 11:18 pm
Banana, apple or blueberry oatmeal are my favorite oatmeal flavors. I usually have oatmeal for breakfast everyday…i will have to give your pumpkin oats a try! 🙂
27. Jenny | 03/26/2011 at 7:35 pm
I haven’t done blueberry oats in awhile. Gotta give that a go again 😀
28. paoang | 03/26/2011 at 12:24 am

Tough call! I love pumpkin oats when TJ’s pumpkin butter is on shelves (sooo good), but the banana is great all year round!
36. Jenny | 03/26/2011 at 7:37 pm
I need to find pumpkin butter. I’ve never tried it 😮
37. Megan @ oatmealwithsprinkles | 03/26/2011 at 3:36 pm
Oh man! Such a tough choice – I couldn’t choose! I really love both banana oats AND pumpkin oats!
Megan
38. BrittFit | 03/26/2011 at 4:37 pm
tough call…it depends on the time of year for me…summer and spring? definitely banana
39. kissmybroccoli | 03/26/2011 at 8:25 pm
I don’t know why, but I haven’t made pumpkin oats in forever! Since I’m out of bananas right now, I think that will be changing in the NEAR future!
And I’m right there with you on the indecisiveness. If I’m shopping and can’t make up my mind about something, I usually give up and buy them both! Haha!
40. Jenny | 03/27/2011 at 11:09 am
Haha that way you’re never missing out 😉
41. simplynutritiouskate | 03/27/2011 at 12:05 am
wow your oats look amazing. I love mine loaded with almond butter, chocolate, and coconut yum!
42. Jenny | 03/27/2011 at 11:09 am
I have yet to add coconut! =/
43. Tara | 03/27/2011 at 10:24 am
I like both types. I feel like banana oats are more versatile and you can combine it with more flavors. I still love my pumpkin though! Actually they’re reallly good when you have pumpkin banana oats.
44. Jenny | 03/27/2011 at 11:10 am
I love mixing them 😀
45. Parita @ myinnershakti | 03/27/2011 at 10:53 am
Banana all the way – a little PB and chocolate is great too!
46. Jenny | 03/27/2011 at 11:10 am
I can’t have oats without pb 😉
47. leashieloo | 03/27/2011 at 1:41 pm
I love Annies Bunnies, I am about to get all over that flavor! I heart Annie’s in general, you’re making me want to make the mac n cheese. Blue box has nothing on it!
48. mindrunningwild | 03/27/2011 at 1:51 pm
um yes. please to the bunny grahams. have you had the “friends” ones? THE BEST
I like both pumpkin and banana. can’t ever choose ; )
49. katshealthcorner | 03/27/2011 at 11:26 pm
I love pumking oats! If I want something more suttle sweet, then I go with pumpkin. If I want something that’s a little more sweet, then I go with banana. 🙂
50. livinglearningeating | 07/22/2011 at 5:05 pm
WHOA GIRL! That work out? You are fit!
But I can’t stomach eggs – in cookies? Sure. French toast? Pushing it. But in recognizable egg form? YECH. Maybe I got an overload back when my parents used to make me eat two fried eggs a day, because they thought that vegetarian = will get kwashikor (spelling?) if not force-fed eggs 😛
Thank goodness nut butters, yogurt, beans, tempeh, and tofu taste waaaaay better 🙂 Gotta love that chobani…
