Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

https://fitgirlfoodie.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/mondaymotivation.gif?w=125I think sometimes we all need a little Monday motivation πŸ™‚ For me, it’s looking forward to a great strength training workout.

A little breakfast excitement never hurt either πŸ˜‰

These are a few eats from the weekend

Breakfast pumpkin pie oats topped with chia seeds, cinnamon raisin pb, walnuts, and cookies πŸ˜€

Had these right before I went to Saturday class. I’m taking Nutrition on Saturdays from 8:30-11:20am. Yes it is incredibly longggggg. After like an hour it becomes a bit hard to focus. Luckily this Saturday I was in and out because I was testing.

After my test I went to my boyfriend’s sister house for a nice lunch followed by dessert.

We went to Yogurtland and I got a mixture of cookies and cream/cheesecake fro-yo. Topped with oreo pieces, strawberries, sprinkles, cheesecake bits, and cookie dough pieces. I’m like a 5 year old when it comes to ice cream. I think I enjoy toppings more than I do the yogurt πŸ˜‰ This hit the spot, can’t wait to go back πŸ˜€

At night I had a nice night with friends going to Miller’s Ale House that opened up close to my house. It was packed and the wait was almost 2 hours but regardless we had a fun night.

On Sunday I had lazy day with the boyfriend. He studied and me?….well I looked at blogs all day πŸ˜‰ He was nice enough to give me his almost empty Dark Chocolate Dreams pb jar. What can I say, I’ve become a collector.

My Monday breakfast was amazing! My first time actually having OIAJ with hot oats instead of the overnight cold version.

In my mix I had:

1/2 cup oats, 3/4 cup milk, 1/2 nanner chopped, flax

Topped with peanuts, 1/2 Luna bar, and the dark chocolate pb that was already in the jar πŸ™‚

I love the hot oat version especially since it’ll melt the chocolate off the bottom

I think this was made obvious…

This was the Luna bar I used to top my oats. I love the texture it gave the oats. Nice and crunchy without falling apart. This bar holds up with consistency and has a great flavor. 2 thumbs up πŸ™‚

Well I’m off to hit the weights! Today will be consisting of bench press, leg press, lat pulldowns, and air squats.

Hope I get to beat any previous PR’s πŸ˜‰

  • What do you prefer, OOIAJ or regular hot OIAJ?

Although I liked the hot, I love the cold better. It’s always nice to switch it up tho πŸ˜€

  • 9. Parita @ myinnershakti  |  03/21/2011 at 12:56 pm

Your weekend looks like it was so fun! πŸ™‚ And I am more of a hot oats kind of person, but to be fair, I don’t think I’ve given the cold kind a chance! Have a great day!

    • 10. Jenny  |  03/22/2011 at 9:25 pm

      Make them quick πŸ˜‰

  • 11. TheNoviceNosher  |  03/21/2011 at 1:01 pm

Lol why do my oats never look as good as yours?? I love your combinations. I haven’t done OIAJ yet, but I do like hot oats more than cold. I find the warmth so filling and comforting!

    • 12. Jenny  |  03/22/2011 at 9:26 pm

I probably like the cold because it’s always hot here πŸ˜›

  • 13. Mary Beth  |  03/21/2011 at 1:29 pm

Not an oat eater so I have never made OIAJ but they always sound interesting. Makes me wonder what else I could eat “IAJ” style??!!

Had to mention, that Luna is the neatest one I have ever seen. It’s perfectly iced! If you like coconut, try the new flavor, it’s awesome.

    • 14. Jenny  |  03/22/2011 at 9:27 pm

      Thanks for the tip πŸ™‚

  • 15. Sweet Cheeks  |  03/21/2011 at 1:33 pm

    • 17. Jenny  |  03/22/2011 at 9:28 pm

I can’t have oats without pb or chocolate πŸ˜‰

  • 27. Tara  |  03/21/2011 at 10:50 pm

I can’t believe all the goodies you put in your oats! I may have to just give in and give it a go too! I have oats, PB, raisins, stevia, and blueberries, hot, or I’ll have Bob’s red mill muesli mix cold…thanks for sharing your blog!

    • 31. Jenny  |  03/22/2011 at 9:30 pm

I have raisins too but I never think to add them lol πŸ™‚

  • 32. Cat  |  03/21/2011 at 11:24 pm

  • 33. Maryann (The Balanced Bean)  |  03/22/2011 at 12:08 am

Oh girl we do think alike!! your OIAJ beats my lazy girl cereal though, lol. Yogurtland is one of my biggest weaknesses in life these days…

    • 34. Jenny  |  03/22/2011 at 9:31 pm

It was my first time there! Won’t be my last

  • 35. Katherine: Unemployed  |  03/22/2011 at 4:32 am

I had that luna bar last week and I’m just going to put it out there: I was disappointed! possibly because I had taken it on a few trips with me and when I opened it the caramel was on one side of the wrapper an the brownie portion was in crumbs across my lap…

  • 36. fashionfitnessfoodie  |  03/22/2011 at 7:09 am

I like my oats hot! But I live somewhere cold so that might have to do with it? In the summer I like cold breakfasts!

    • 37. Jenny  |  03/22/2011 at 9:31 pm

I live in heat everyday lol ;P

  • 38. BrittFit  |  03/22/2011 at 7:49 am

  • 48. Fit Chick Britt  |  03/22/2011 at 4:49 pm

Hi there! I just found your blog. I like to think of myself as a fit and foodie girl too πŸ™‚ I prefer the cold overnight oats in a jar. I can’t eat hot oatmeal with peanut butter, its a texture thing I think.

    • 49. Jenny  |  03/22/2011 at 9:34 pm

      I can’t eat it without! haha πŸ˜€

  • 50. Mary @ Bites and Bliss  |  03/22/2011 at 4:51 pm

I love froyo! Wish we had a place nearby.

  • 55. Sable@SquatLikeALady  |  03/22/2011 at 9:11 pm
