Happy Humpday everyone!! 😀

Don’t ask me the reason behind my title, it’s what popped up in Pandora 🙂

Today was my appointment with my Gastro and I made sure to take daddy with me. My parents are pretty old school and don’t know a lot about IBS so I wanted them to learn what I’m going through and that it’s not as uncommon as they think. My mom thought I was this anomaly for a long time (probably still does). The office visit went great, he explained to my dad what was going on with my body and gave me a different probiotic to take. I was on Align and it wasn’t working out. The pain and bloating was more than I could manage and when it started to interrupt my daily activities it soon became problematic. I was given Amitiza which is used to relieve stomach pain, bloating, etc. I’m starting on it today and taking it day by day. I was also given a series of blood work including a CBC and celiac disease testing. He is such a great doctor and my parents feel more relieved knowing the facts.

After reading Katie’s post yesterday on her Cookie Dough Oatmeal Cake I knew exactly what to make for breakfast!


My version of a boatmeal 🙂 I followed Katie’s recipe except I used canned pumpkin for the applesauce, added some cinnamon, 1/3 of a nanner, and put my chocolate chips on top not inside. I also topped it with peanuts, apricot jam, and cinnamon raisin pb. Wow, this was amazing! If you haven’t tried this, get to it! Make sure you have 20 minutes to spare in the morning 🙂

Today was a workout day so I was excited to work up a good sweat.

  • Deadlifts: 4 warm up sets with 5 repetitions each, and 1 heavy set with 165 lbs. I did 3 reps. It was heavy :O
  • Arnold Presses: Weight is not increasing 😦  20 lbs in each arm and I’m pretty winded as it is. Maybe for next week I’ll keep the same weight but increase repetitions instead.
  • Cable Crunches and Leg lifts to finish


More spaghetti squash with a chopped Salmon burger and cheese on top 🙂

Today was great because I had another special delivery!! The great people from Chobani sent me this O_O


I love getting goodies in the mail 😉

I’ve only tried the basic flavor fat free Chobani so when I saw what was in the box I was pretty ecstatic .




So many flavors, can’t wait to go through them and give you all my opinion 😀 I don’t even know where to start!

    oo ive never had chobani since i dont eat dairy but i love al the pretty colors!! YUM YOUR CCK creation looks SO SO GOOD!

    Man I’m totally jealous of your Chobani package. I absolutely love Cho! My favorite is the vanilla by far. I also enjoy the plain 2% as well. 🙂

    my favorite chobani flavor is a tie between the vanilla and the new lemon! especially slightly frozen…the lemon transforms into a delicious desert!

    Oh yayyy Im sooo glad it’s not in the dark anymore! I bet you’re excited for your improvement. 😀 And my fave chobanis are peach, pineapple, and strawberry. btw–apricot jam is one of my fave jams….:P

    ooh, your boatmeal looks pretty darn good! And hooray for a good doc appointment – liking your doctor is so important.

    I’m a fan of plain greek yogurt, but I have tried the lemon chiobani and it’s delicious!

    I must be the only one of us that hasn’t tried chiobani yet 😦 I feel like an epic failure. I saw it had a lot of sugar in it and I got scured…I know it’s greek yogurt but is it actually good for u?

      The sugars that are in the yogurt are naturally found in milk products so it’s nothing artificial, like the sugar in fruits. I’m excited to try them 😀

    Yumm!!!! I like the plain b/c I can cook with it! But i’ve been dying to try the new flavors! I can’t find them anywhere! I drove 2.5 hours to whole foods and they didn’t even have lemon or black cherry. ahhhh im so sad! I want to try them!

    I love good ole’ vanilla chobani with some pb on it…. but i really need to try some spaghetti squash…how do you make it look like spaghetti..does it come that way?…obviously I have noooo clue here haha

      I just cut the squash down the middle, stick it in the microwave for 15 minutes and then start scraping the sides till it looks like spaghetti!! Super duper easy and deliciousss 😀

    I’m so boring….its plain! I like adding my own jam to it cause theyre usually overtly sweet. Although eveyone keeps raving about this lemon flavour and I’m very curious!

    I just got some Chobani, too! Lemon is my favorite. And about the IBS – I just mentioned my Crohn’s in the post I just wrote (and felt a little embarrassed about doing so) and I felt so good to come over to your blog and see you wrote about IBS. I know they’re not the same thing, but they’re pretty similar. The pain, bloating, etc is awful and I hate the days it interferes with my daily activities. I’m glad your parents went with you to your appointment!

      Me too, my dad learned something new. And I can totally relate to your symptoms. Sometimes the pain is so bad I can’t leave my house 😦

    So jealous of all that Chobani! Of the flavours I’ve tried, I like the vanilla and raspberry the best. I don’t get to eat it often though because they don’t sell Chobani in Canada. 😦

    Hey Jenny – in response to the comment you left on my blog – have you looked into the FODMAPS diet for IBS? That’s actually one of the diets I plan on experimenting with later on.

    that boatmeal is like an explosion of flavor! I have yet to try it. I was going to try the irish soda bread boatmeal tonight.
    I love the strawberry banana and pineapple chobani. I think their vanilla flavor is the best vanilla out of all the different greek yogurt companies!

    Love Chobani! So many great flavors, and I love greek yogurt in general. The boatmeal looks so great too. I was going to make it this morning until I realized that I am sadly lacking a dish small enough and heatproof. But I will make it soon! 🙂

    When I used to eat Chobani I always did plain and added either m y own granola or some berries. I have tried the pomegranate and it was yummy! That’s such a big box there!

    Sounds like you have a pretty great doctor! It’s so hard to find one that will take the time to explain things and also listen to your questions and meet your needs! Hope the new pills help your tummy trouble!

    Congrats on the Chobani score! I’ve only tried a handful of their flavors, but my favorite so far is the peach! It makes fantastic overnight oats!
