Pain Pain Go Away

So for those of you who didn’t know, I suffer from pretty tormenting IBS. Yesterday turned into a bad day. It started off as a mild stomach cramp which later escalated to nauseousness, dizziness, distended stomach, bloat, and constant pain. I laid in bed wishing it would all just go away. Not a restful sleep to say the least. This morning I felt odd. Usually by 9ish when I wake up I’m ravenous for breakfast. Not today. The thought of food repulsed me. I felt that hot oats would just bother me more so I made overnight oats for later.

While waiting for the discomfort to subside, I figured it might be good to do some exercise so off I went to the gym. The workout did me good. I wasn’t hungry and finished all my sets with no problem.

Today I did: Leg Press, step ups, push ups, lat pull downs, wood choppers, hyper-extensions, and leg raises.

My push ups are improving and I can do 10 solid ones. I know it’s not a lot, but when I was in high school I couldn’t even make it past 2. All throughout my workout I felt fine and strong.

When I got home this was waiting for me.

Can we say ooiaj? πŸ˜€ Ok so technically the jar is empty lol but still good for making overnight hours oats.

In the mix we have:

33g of oats, 1/4 cup milk, 10g chia, 2 ounces of Dannon light and fit yogurt,

1/4 banana & chopped strawberries.

Later topped with lots of cereal and a dollop of cinnamon raisin pb.

Delicious? You betcha πŸ˜‰

I like a good close up πŸ™‚

All in all it’s been a relaxing day. My stomach hasn’t decided to cooperate with me so I’ve been playing it safe and eating light. Lunch was a simple turkey and cheese wrap and dessert was as followed.

Here we have some yogurt, banana soft serve, cinnamon, 1/2 chocolate vitatop and some caramel syrup

Have I mentioned I’m a bit obsessed with Reddi-wip?

Hope everyone is having a fantastic Friday!! I’m off to do some more studying and catch the latest Jersey Shore.

  • Is anyone else staying in tonight?

omg I’m completely OBSESSED with reddiwhip! I haven’t had it in a whole month but before that I was going through a can (alone!) every 3-4 days. Kind of ridic. I know! Coffee always helps when my tummy hurts, as well as a bowl of roasted veggies with marinara. Fiber is always a plus…omg I know your pain though it sucks and I hope you’ll feel better soon!

I love all cereal in oats! Lol Do you leave them overnight? Cause I add it in the morning so it doesn’t get soggy. I usually use Kashi as a topping or if not then I’ll use cookies, graham crackers, chocolate chips, or nuts. Yum πŸ˜€

Sorry to hear about your IBS 😦
I know the feeling of a distended belly, bloat and pain. Before I went gluten-free, I used to get such a distended belly I would look like I was preggo!
I’m staying in tonight too! A nice break after a long week πŸ™‚

How did you figure out gluten was the problem? Just basic elimination diet?

Yes, I just decided to pull all gluten out of my diet. I figured it was worth a shot because the pain was beginning to hinder my daily activities. And lo and behold, it’s been amazing. I feel great!

Hola Jenny! I hope that by tomorrow morning you’ll be out of bed strong and light πŸ˜€ Heyyy maybe you are allergic to gluten then…? I hope not! Whatever it is, may it be brought to the light! I was kind of feeling like that today, and I know how hard it is to ‘function’ properly haha. Hang in there!

Girl, you are making me want to go to the store right now and grab some whipped topping! When I was younger, I would squirt that stuff right into my mouth! Lol

Sorry to hear about your tummy troubles. I’ve never been diagnosed with IBS, but I have similar issues with my gut! 😦

I’ve cut out dairy for a while and I felt better but then I started having it again and it didn’t make a difference. If it’s gluten I think I’d live with pain lol It just kinda comes and goes when it wants 😦

Ugh, I didn’t know you suffer from IBS 😦 I have Crohn’s disease, so I can TOTALLY relate to all of the stomach issues.
Staying away from dairy has helped me a LOT. (instead of skim milk I used almond milk, no ice cream :(, and greek yogurt is actually fine, but other yogurt really bothers me)
I also try to eat as ‘gluten-free’ as I can. Even though it’s get a bit pricy, I buy what I can. I hope you start feeling better! Have you seen a gastro about it?
